At the center of this monument is a metal sculpture surrounded on three sides by a "Wall of Honor," listing the names of 209,145 United Colored Troops on 166 burnished stainless steel plaques arranged by regiment. The plaques on this record (plaques E138, E139) memorialize the 137th Regiment, United States Colored Infantry.
