Park helicopter is involved in numerous high-altitude Search and Rescue (SAR) operations every year in the backcountry of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. This is a selection of images of the Starlight SAR 2004, above 12,000-ft. elevation in the Palisades region of Kings Canyon backcountry, showing various aspects of the rescue and of the terrain.
