New York State Monument
Commemorative monument erected to honor those who served & died during the Battle of Antietam on Sept 17, 1862. Dedicated to soldiers from NY who participated in the battle.

Structure Number: 36 || 30' high Roman Doric fluted column w/eagle on top (outstretched wings). Column mounted on square base with bronze plaques. On 20 sq ft. plinth of marble with four sets of steps. Located in field N of Visitor Center. || Built in 1920; Architect was Edward Pearce Casey
