No Apparent Changes at Windy Pass: 1919-2011
A photo pair showing No Apparent Changes at Windy Pass: 1919-2011
This 1919 photo shows the Stephen R. Capps’ United States Geological Survey field party crossing into the head of Windy Creek from the Sanctuary River Valley. The expedition travels for weeks and thus used horses to transport gear and supplies over the rough terrain. By 2011, little had changed in this local area, as the extreme nature of the climate at this site prohibits much vegetative growth.
