A subpoena to Richard Pell Hunt's father, Richard Hunt. On front of printed document: “Sittings. Sold by J.B. Jansen. By virtue of a writ of Subpoena To you directed and herewith shown, You are Commanded, and firmly enjoined, that, laying all other matters aside, and notwithstanding any excuse, you be and appear in your proper person, before the Chief Justice or other Justices, some or one of them, of the Supreme Court of Judicature of the People of the State of New York, at a Sittings, to be held in and for the City and County of New York, at the City Hall of the said City, on the 30th day of Novr Inst. At 10 o’clock in the forenoon of the same day, to testify and speak the truth in a certain action now depending undetermined in the said Court, then and there to be tried, between James Jackson, Ex dem Plaintiff and Robert Chew Defendant in a Plea of Trespass & Ejectment (on the part of the Plaintiff -----) And this you are not to omit under the penalty of Two hundred and fifty dollars, Dated the 10th ----- day of November 1820 By the Court.
