Arkansas National Guard at Little Rock Central High School, Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site, 1957.
It was on September 4, 1957 that the Arkansas National Guard soldiers were ordered to bar the Little Rock Nine from entering Central High School. There was a crowd gathering across the street chanting, "Two, four, six, eight, we don't want to integrate."
