Congress voting the Declaration of Independence by Edward Savage and Robert Edge Pine,
Black and white engraving showing about two dozen men in colonial attire grouped around tables and chairs in a meeting room.
This image may be the most accurate of the Assembly Room in the 1700s. It is unfinished plate, from a painting begun by Robert Edge Pine (d. 1788) and finished by Edward Savage. Note the Windsor chairs, table coverings, and carved woodwork.
