Ash Mountain helibase operations, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, summers 2000-2004
Ash Mountain helibase, located at SEKI park headquarters near Three Rivers, CA, is used as a base of operations for helitack staff, fire operations, training and many other activities. The base is operational for approximately 180 days of the year, with infrequent use during the off-season by law enforcement operations, winter SAR operations, snow survey and other emergency occurrences. This is a selection of images of various of these events and operations, including SEKI helitack operations, helitack training, medivac operations, outside-agency helicopters involved in mutual aid missions, and local educational events for children.
