The sun shines down on a red brick courthouse with a green lawn in front.
The reconstructed 1819 courthouse is a museum containing tobacco and Civil War exhibits and archaeological finds on site. After Lincoln's assassination, John Wilkes Booth hid nearby and was aided by inhabitants of Port Tobacco, including Thomas Jones.
