This letter from the GNMP Superintendent briefs Mr. Chapman with an overview of the preparations that have been made to accomplish the erection and dedication of an Alabama monument at Gettysburg is looking forward to Mr. Chapman seeing the entire Gettysburg Park during his visit. Mr. McConaghie also provides details of the actions of Alabama troops on the battlefield during the battle.
