Commemorative monument erected to honor those who served & died during the Battle of Antietam on Sept 17, 1962. Dedicated to the 11th OH Inf, 2nd Brg, Kanawha Div, 9th Army Corps.

Structure Number: 53 || Granite 2-tier rough-dressed base w/pedestal topped by 12' h smooth granite obelisk. Text on front, back inscribed on polished panels. Fronted by 90'l x 4'h retaining wall of random-coursed rough-dressed limestone. Located 167 yards E of Branch Ave. || Erected in 1903 possibly by the State of Ohio
