Regrowth in 2001 Pinelands prescribed burn at Everglades NP

Prescribed burning is an important tool in managing vegetation and fuels at Everglades NP. Following a prescribed burn the area is monitored to assess the effects the fire had on vegetation and to determine if the fire's objectives were met. Shortly after a fire the vegetation begins to regrow. These images show vegetative regrowth following the 2001 Pinelands prescribed burn.
