A visitor is at Stanford Hostel in the winter. || Located near Peninsula, Ohio, Hostelling International- Stanford Hostel is a historic nineteenth- century farm home built by George Stanford, one of the first settlers in the Western Reserve. The farm house was built in about 1830. Purchased by the National Park Service in 1978, the hostel has been carefully restored by the National Park Service and Northeast Ohio Council (NOC) of American Youth Hostels (AYH). The Stanford Hostel opened its doors in 1986 to visitors from around the world. AYH is a non-profit organization working exclusively to provide educational travel experiences for people of all ages.
