Black and white photograph of a sign and picnic tables next to a lake
No facilities existed prior to 1957 for boatmen making the long run between Kettle Falls and Trail, Canada. To help fill the need, the NPS, working cooperatively with local people, put in minimum facilities at Northport, Wash, a Custom shop for boats entering the U.S. The NPS provided two campground tables and fireplaces, and the sign. Northport groups provided the dock, labor, and transportation. Taken by Arthur Holmes at Northport, Washington. Taken 1957.
