Candlelight illuminates the walkway in front of and up the stairs of Fort Scott's historic officers' quarters. The many near parallel lines of light draw the viewers eye around the photo. In person, the effect is rather magnified.

Safety and Aesthetic
Candlelight illuminates the walkway in front of and up the stairs of Fort Scott's historic officers' quarters. The many near parallel lines of light draw the viewers eye around the photo. In person, the effect is rather magnified.
While many appreciate the beautiful aesthetic of the candle lanterns during the Candlelight Tour, these flames also serve to shed light on areas that might otherwise be obstacles, such as steps and the edges of flat walkways.
