Cláudio Rabeca plays the rabeca, resembling a fiddle, near ground level with the crowd, whom are seated on the grass. Cláudio wears a flat cap, and a shirt of a red paisley pattern and plaid collar.
From the clubs in Recife to the stages of Washington, DC, Quarteto Olinda brings their "forró de rabeca" to the United States for the first time. The sounds of the rabeca (the Brazilian folk fiddle), and the drumbeat of the zabumba get the dance floor going in the spirit of Brazilian summer nights. The members of Quarteto Olinda grew up surrounded by the music of the Northeast of Brazil, and bring their own perspectives to the regional styles of forró, coco, and cavalo marinho. On rabeca, Cláudio Rabeca leads this group of young musicians from Recife and Olinda. Behind Cláudio, Yuri Rabid plays the bass and backup vocals, and Guga Amorim, Bruno Vinezof, and Carlos Amarelo provide eclectic percussion and supporting vocals.
