Artwork by Jhosselyn (Kiara) Prado-Albizures
Drawing on pencil of woman with short curly hair, glasses, and not smiling. The background is brown painting.
Latino Heritage Internship Programs interns in 2022 were asked to create artwork to expand the awareness and appreciation of Latino contributions to the United States, and their time as interns at the National Park Service. This artwork was created by Kiara Prado-Albizures, who worked at Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. “Ynes [Mexia] is the representation of the unique fabric that holds the ‘American Dream’ together. Because diverse narratives are imperative in order to accurately reflect the Latinx presence and contributions to America.”
