Exterior view of the Bishop White House located at 309 Walnut Street in Philadelphia.
This end row-house, built in 1787, served as the home of the first Episcopal Bishop of Pennsylvania, The Rev. Dr. William White, until his death in 1836. White chose its location because it lay midway between the two churches he served as rector, Christ Church and St. Peter's Church.
