A group of four people stand with four horses in front of a stone building.
This image taken in front of one of the stables buildings in the Autumn of 1912 shows the tradition of horse breeding and racing continued long after the days of slavery. In the image are John Ridgely Jr. (left), Louise Hurmrichouse (second from left), Louis Davis (second from right) and an African American groomer or trainer listed only as "Bryan" (right).
