Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center, LID Approach
U.S. National Park Service
Students participate in a class called the LID Approach. Through hands-on activities, they are learning about Low Impact Development strategies and concepts such as imperviousness that are related to sustainable storm water management. || The Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center's residential program provides fourth through eighth grade classes an overnight educational experience that integrates science, nature study, environmental issues, and the arts. Students learn natural history and the concepts of watershed, biodiversity, and habitat. In addition, environmental issues and the process of environmental decision-making are explored. The curriculum is designed to meet state standards and teach proficiency skills, especially in science and social studies.
