Marker contributes to nat'l significance of park under NR Criterion A because it represents national movement among veterans & related groups to commemorate Civil War battlefields. || The marker is a simple, 6' high x 3' wide x 1.5' deep, granite obelisk inscribed on its face. It marks the regiment's position at 12:00 noon on September 20, 1863.
