1 of 6 Monuments to Maryland. Indicates position occupied July 2-3, 1863. Located on Powers Hill in deep woods, N side Granite Schoolhouse Lane. || Mn, 1 cannon. Base 5'sq rough cut, tooled edge. 2 part stepped smooth-cut shaft. 1st, crossed cannon & incised regiment front, incised inscription rear. 2nd, incised inscription, bronze medallion. Pyramid cap w/ polished sphere. All 14'H.
