The bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is the largest eagle native to North America and a bird of prey also known as a 'sea eagle'. Sea eagles are all birds of prey in the genus Haliaeetus. Their diets consist mainly of fish and small mammals. This bird is easily recognized throughout North America because of its large range which includes most of Canada and Alaska as well as the contiguous United States and northern Mexico.
