Indian blanketflower (Gaillardia pulchella), Fort Matanzas National Monument, 2014.

Known by many names, including firewheel, Indian blanket or sundance, this adaptable flower is hardy, not picky about its substrate and is highly drought-tolerant. It is also favored by honeybees because of its amber, buttery-tasting honey.
