A beautiful old ranch house with a screened porch rests beneath the shade of a yellow-leafed cottonwood tree. Behind the house, several rock layers of many striking colors complete the scene.
The Historic Chew Ranch at Pool Creek is one of the highlights along the Echo Park Road. In 1910, Jack Chew was searching for a home for his family and cattle, and found it here at Pool Creek. This site was home to three generations of Chews. In 1966, Jack's son, Rial Chew, sold the 1,900 acres they owned within Dinosaur National Monument to the National Park Service.
