DONOR & DATE: The Valley Forge Park Commission under the jurisdiction of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 1908. HISTORICAL DATA: Brig. General Thomas Conway had been promoted to Inspector General and left Valley Forge on December 31, 1777. This brigade however retained his name throughout the encampment.
