Lacklan McIntosh's Brigade under General George Washington December 19, 1777- June 19, 1778 at Valley Forge Placed by the North Carolina Society NS DAR 1972 DESCRIPTION: Granite with bronze plaque, 6' x 4' x 2'. DONOR & DATE: The National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, 1972. HISTORICAL DATA: North Carolina was the 11th state to erect a monument at Valley Forge (1972). Virginia erected a monument leaving Connecticut the only state not represented in the park.
