Dear Mrs. Letteer:
Thank you so much for your recent letter. It was good to hear from you and to know that your health is better.
Unfortunately, we have not seen nor do we sell the card that you received from Mr. DeLue. Local shops may have them, however, and we will look for them.
Thank you for offering the historical booklets and the doubloons. We will enjoy receiving both and can certainly put the booklets to use.
Do plan to come to the Mississippi Monument Dedication. We’ll look forward to seeing you and visiting with you.
The visit will also give you an opportunity to see how the Louisiana Monument is after a year on the battlefield. As you can imagine, the bronze has begun to weather, but questions and comments about it continue. You might particularly want to consider the monument’s landscaping during your visit.
Thank you again for writing.
Sincerely yours,
Jerry L. Schober
Superintendent
