Agnes Moore Worked: Kaiser Shipyard #3; Richmond, CA Position: Welder Born: 1920 in Searcy County, Arkansas In 1942, after moving from Arkansas to California, Agnes heard a radio announcer say, “Women, do something for your country, go to the Richmond Shipyards and be a welder”. She became a certified Journeyman Welder, and worked for four years in Kaiser Shipyard #3 on the nightshift.
