Ancient textile from Walnut Canyon cliff dwelling WACA 811
Plain cotton weave with scattered dye/pigment in no recognizable pattern. DYED RED, L 9, W 3 1/2 IN. TWO PIECES IN WACC ACCESSION 133. A THIRD PIECE SENT TO WACC AS OTR, SEE WACC ACC 787 AND DEACC 1993.003. THE PHOTO WHILE ON EXHIBIT MAKES THE TEXTILE APPEAR TO HAVE BLACK SPOTCHES ON IT. THIS WAS FROM THE GLARE OF BLACK TEXT ON THE PLEXIGLASS CASE. PREVIOUSLY ON LIFE ON THE LEDGES EXHIBIT.
