When visiting the park, we suggest starting at the downtown Visitor Center located in the Historic Firehouse at 706 Craven Street. The visitor center offers an exhibit, bookstore, guided programs, and an accessible restroom. The exhibit shares an overview of both the local and national story of Reconstruction.
