Bison
A bison bull stands in frosty grass.
Bison are the largest and most prolific mammal species found in Wind Cave National Park. Reintroduced to the park in 1913, this bison herd is one of the most genetically diverse herds in existence. Wind Cave's bison aid greatly in bison conservation programs throughout the country.
