Grand Canyon National Park: Yaki Point Sunset 9517
(6000 x 3120) Sunday, August 14, 2011. The sun came out from behind the clouds at the last possible minute, filling the canyon with a red glow. It had rained on the South Rim, earlier in the afternoon. Yaki Point, on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park can be reached by free Shuttle Bus only. The area is closed to private vehicles. Take the Kaibab Rim Route (Orange Route) to get there. Kaibab Rim Route buses provide transportation between Grand Canyon Visitor Center, South Kaibab Trailhead, Yaki Point, Pipe Creek Vista, Mather Point, and Yavapai Geology Museum. This is the shortest scenic route and the only access to Yaki Point, the South Kaibab Trailhead and the Yavapai Geology Museum. NPS photo by Michael Quinn.
