Manuscript letter on single leaf signed by George Washington.
A letter from George Washington at Cambridge to James Warren, Speaker for the General Courts of Massachusetts Bay. The letter references Peleg Wadsworth, grandfather of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. "The inclosed amount was this day sent me by Captain Wadsworth for payment, as you will see by his order. The services being done for the benefit of the province & at the Instance of your Honourable body, I have referrd him to you for payment."
