Cypress water pipe insulator; Hand hewn half-diameter section of cylindrical cypress water pipe insulator with tongue & groove joints running along both long edges; originally two pieces would have been fitted together around a thermal water pipe, insulating it to keep water hot as it ran underground to the Rector Bathhouse on the west side of Central Avenue, completed in April 1894.
