General George Armstrong Custer Wearing a Fur-Collared Coat
LIBI_00019_00283; This item is an original albumen cabinet card (card-mounted photograph) of General George A. Custer in bust view and dressed in civilian clothes. The oval-shaped photograph is 4 1/2 x 6 3/8" mounted and was produced circa 1872 by Scholten of St. Louis, Missouri. Foxing is evident on both the front and the verso. The front of the item is signed, "Truly your friend, G.A. Custer, July 1, 1872."Note: "Pkg 4" handwritten on the verso. Photograph reprinted in "Custer in Photographs" by D.
