Sea turtle egg corral work at Padre Island National Seashore in 2008.
Padre Island National Seashore used a fenced area, a corral, to incubate nests from Kemp's ridley sea turtles for the first time in 2008. Eleven nests were placed in the corral. The emergence success for the 11 nests was 91.2%, resulting in 1,042 Kemp's ridely hatchlings released.
