Fields around the Home Ranch Complex at Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site
Irrigated fields of green grass, surrounded by low wooden fencing, extend to a cluster of ranch buildings and trees in the distance.
Kohrs and Bielenberg used portions of their home ranch as open range upon which to graze their growing cattle herds. They also practiced limited agriculture in the irrigated fields, growing wheat, oats, and hay for livestock feed.
