“2 mo 20th 1853. Well my dear brother I do not think of anything to interest thee to day but I suppose thee will be worried if thee does not recieve a letter from home this week so I will try to write as much as I can. We recieved thy very interesting letter last fifth – day. I think Mother will get Charlotte something for thee if she comes on but I do not what it will be. Father & Mother have gone out to Meeting and expect to bring Aunt Margaret and Uncle George Pryor down with them. I like to have them they are such nice old people does thee know they talk of taking the east part of Abbeys house wont it be nice? Sarah Abbey expects to come back the first of next month. I believe mother said that Richard and William had rented their house for 12$ a week is not that pretty good rent. Willie wishes me to tell thee that he has five lambs. he bought one of them their names are [Fido] Jakey Sanco and Molly & Billy. He says I got a Valentine with a picture in one corner and a very pretty embroided edge. he just told me that I made a mistake it had no picture in the corner. This is it –Willie Hunt is a fine boy He rides around the town with his papa Now Willie guess who send you this St Valentine was rather too quick in saying I got no Valentines. I got one I think Anna [ ] sent it. Did thee get any? Salé did not I thought Willie would like a Valentine, so I wrote it. Georgie got one I guess Jennie Mount wrote it. Aunt Margaret and Uncle George came down and dined with us and Julia & Charles came down [and – crossed out] since tea & mother & Father went [5 words crossed out – illlegible] up with them this stormy night. I have been quite sick with the sore throat and a bad cold I am much better now Jane and Willie have both got colds.Thy time is most out at Moorestown school and I suppose thee is very glad and so am I. well my dear I must close for the baby is very cross and I dont feel very well write very soon farewell Thy very Affectionate sister Mary M. Hunt” [Sarah Hunt wrote a paragraph on the last page, "Mary was determined I should write ..."]
