2008 Kemp's ridley sea turtle project at Padre Island National Seashore
In 2008, 93 Kemp's ridley nests were found at Padre Island National Seashore. This exceeds the previous record of 73 Kemp's ridley nests found at Padre Island National Seashore set during 2007. This marks the fifth consecutive year that record numbers of Kemp's ridley nests have been recorded at the park since record keeping began in 1980.
