The photograph is 4 x 5 5/8" (4 1/4 x 6 1/2" mounted) and was produced circa 1890 by H.M. Rice. On the front, a typed notation reads, "H. M. Rice, Photographer." On the verso, a handwritten notation reads, "Moses, a White Stone Indian Chief photographed at Fort Spokane, Washington Territory/From Captain J.J.
