On front of document: “Niagara Falls January 30, 1829 Dear Sir Agreeable to your Request I purchased a four year old Horse for you which I Send to the home of John Chamberlain who will probably Deliver the same to you the horse has not been fairly Broke but has worked with another horse & is Said to good So far as has been worked I wish you to take him and[alone] what you Can I paid Seventy Dollars for him & a part in Cash he will Cost me Eighty Dollars when I git him to Waterloo you may think him high at that price but he will make a first Rate horse Likely but it will be best for us Both for you to agree on the price if you Can as I write to Mr Chamberlain to transact the Business for me Sir yours respectfully & c R.P.
