Collection of historic photographs of Camp Nelson, a US Army Depot turned USCT recruitment and training base as well as African American refugee center for those escaping enslavement during the American Civil War.
These photographs were captured in 1865-1866 by the U.S. War Department and can be found in the National Archives.
