Point Reyes Lighthouse Restoration Project: The Lighthouse Surrounded by a "Shroud" - May 11, 2019
A cylindrical, white but dirty, nylon shroud and metal scaffolding surrounds sits on a rocky headland above the Pacific Ocean. Large flexible tubes connect a ventilation system to the "shroud" surrounding the tower. On the right is the side of a wooden building painted white with gray window frames.
A close-up photo of the "shroud" and scaffolding surrounding the lighthouse tower, along with the ventilation system attached to the "shroud." The "shroud," made of nylon reinforced weatherproof fabric, provides several protective measures, which include capturing sand blasted materials to prevent them from being released into the environment, protecting the cast iron tower from rain and salt spray, and creating a work environment that is more protected from harsh weather conditions.
