Chalk portrait of Fanny Longfellow on gray paper in rectangular gilt frame. She has dark hair and eyes and wears a black lace scarf at the back of her head. This portrait belonged to her brother, Thomas Gold Appleton, before coming to hang in Henry Longfellow's bedroom.
