David Cope Elkinton (1915-2003) graduated from Haverford College in 1936 and became an accountant and cost analyst with the family firm, Philadelphia Quartz Company. He was also a Quaker activist who served on Friends Committees and participated in Friends Conferences.
Mr. Elkinton's office was located in the Philadelphia Ledger Building overlooking the west end of the Independence Hall complex for over 30 yrs. He spent his lunch hour strolling the area during INHP's critical years of development.
He made a gift of his slides to the Independence National Historical Park’s archive.
Slides were scanned in 2021 and original order was maintained (see finding aid for arrangement) - all descriptions are Mr. Elkinton's. Archivists' comments are in brackets.
