Rec Fee Project: Upgrade and Stabilize Existing Merrie Way Gravel Parking Lot
The existing Merrie Way parking lot is approximately 100 feet wide by 350 feet long. Fifty feet of the width sits on un-engineered fill and poses a landslide hazard. In order to re-construct a fully code compliant parking lot and subsurface drainage system, the geotechnical engineers recommend drilling cast-in-place concrete piers every 8 feet along the western edge and extend them down through the fill to bedrock to stabilize the slope (approx 65 feet deep) and prevent failure. After stabilization work is completed, the parking lot will be regraded and resurfaced using sustainable design practices.
