2015 O'Shaughnessy Dam rock fall
Fresh boulders and rock debris scattered across a concrete dam in front of a tunnel through rock.
A rock fall occurred from above the north abutment of O'Shaughnessy Dam, directly above the access tunnel that serves as a backcountry trailhead. Approximately 20 m3 of rock fell roughly 30 m from near the top of the short cliff and landed on the northern part of the dam, breaking apart into small blocks. The dam sustained minor damage to the concrete railings on the east side, as well as a severed cable providing electricity to the tunnel lights.
