Shelby County v. Holder (2013) the Supreme Court struck down protections in the Voting Rights Act and allowed states to change their election laws. With barriers to voting, such as states un-registering millions of voters, removing hundreds of polling locations, and gerrymandering voting districts, the fight for equal voting rights continues.
