A dark brown, nearly black, fish fossil on pale tan stone. The scales remain on the fish.
Seven species of living gar are divided into to genera, one of which is Lepisosteus. Living gars are found in eastern North America and Central America including Cuba and Costa Rica. The specimen is approximately 72 cm long. Catalog number FOBU13648.
